A True Vet

Yesterday, my mom was gonna take Bruno to the vet again. I am needed to follow. So, after sending the cards to school, I'm quickly cycled home after given permission.

The appointment was at 11am. We arrived maybe 2-3 minutes late? Anyway, there was another doctor that is in charged. I didn't know my mom changed to another doctor. It was recommended by my cousin. Good thing the doctor is changed because the previous one is so boring and I don't like her. This doctor is so WOW. You have to know about this doctor. I surely would like to share this with everyone!

First, I so wanna be like this vet. So, so wanna be like him!!! I tell you, he certainly deserved the title 'veterinarian'. He is a true vet. He talks confidently and he really knows his job! I just don't know how to say! He is an Indian doctor. He is really good in convincing people with all his knowledge. He is one of the best vets I've ever seen.  

The previous one, doesn't look good the first time I saw her. She says things simple without further explanation. I thought that if she's wearing a laboratory coat, she would be confident in what she's doing. Instead, she charged more and says things so briefly!!! Talks boringly and I don't really like her.

Unlike doctor VJ, he doesn't wears a coat, just a normal purple shirt tucked in, and he doesn't charged much even though he shared so much of his knowledge and understanding. He charges RM15 for consultation while the other doctor charges RM30 with all the crap talk and the I-don't-wanna-know stuff. The lady doc also charged for the eye-flushing when this doc charged for free! You see the difference? She's just so young and she is eating up people's $$. 

I was completely taken aback by his action and his speaking. He even thought me the right way to carry Bruno. LOL. I did a huge mistake in front of him by carrying Bruno by the front leg. LOL. He immediately told me that is not right. WOW! I was sooo WOW! He talks until I can't even say a word. I'm so focus. I realized I looked stupid sitting on the stool knowing nothing. Ha ha.

He doesn't know I want to be like him :) I didn't talk much. He was doing most of it. Like a teacher! He grab a printed board. He explained the kind of parasites. Poops needed to be carried and thrown away as parasites can get contact to the human skin. Bruno needs to be de-wormed at least once in six months. *He didn't do it for years LOL. 

In the examination room, the doctor sat on the floor to get used to with Bruno. The floor has lots of fur. I giggled when Bruno doesn't like the doctor nearing him. Haha. It was funny to watched Bruno like this. He barked at the doctor too when he first saw him. LOL! 

This doctor is incredibly awesome. I don't know what other words that I can used to described this doctor. He is just so good to be one! He knows all about it! He compared humans and animals to give a better understanding. My dog was eating canned food all the time, the doctor said NO. Canned food is actually NOT a good diet for my dog.

He said : You don't buy food that is tasty for your dog. Tasty means it's unhealthy. He asked me what's my favourite food, I cannot think of anything at that time because I was so blur and stunned. My mom answered for me : Honey stars. I was like : Okay that is really tasty.

So what does honey star contains? High content of sugar. Is it good? No. Haha. So canned food actually contains preservative. It doesn't have high nutritional value because it has been processed and contains chemicals. He said we wouldn't know how much poison and enhancers are added into the canned food to make it tasty for dogs to consumed. 

I finally knew why canned dog food is not good. The previous doctor didn't say much about WHY my dog should stop eating canned food. She is really not good in explaining. 

He also said Kitty needs to be confined at home. It seems that my Kitty can't mixed with other cats. Kitty can get AIDS and leukemia too. My jaw drop when I heard this. I wanted to laughed but the doctor wasn't smiling so I better not. What? AIDS? For real? He asked us cats normally can live how long. My mom answered 7, I answered 3. He blows us away by saying 25 years. I was LIKE OMGGGGGGGOSHHHHHHHHH. WTF?????????

He said confined cats can live longer because we have our eye on them and we know what they are going through. If cats roam outside, they may get involved in accidents, have diseases by drinking drain water and get infection by involving in cat fights. He said tigers in the zoo or tigers in the wild is healthier? Of course tigers in the zoo because they are provided clean water and nutritious food.

He says every cat needs to be confined at home. It is for their own good. I thought it would be cruel to not let Kitty enjoy freedom but the doctor said I am cruel for letting Kitty have diseases and die. WOW. He encourages us to castrate Kitty too so that Kitty will not bring unwanted kittens or  fight with other cats. He also won't get HIV. 

Bruno also needs to be castrated. First he asked : what is the most common cancer found in women? and men? Well, for woman is breast cancer and men is prostate cancer. Bruno, even though there is no one for him to mate with but he has the urge to do it. 

Knowing that cancers attack when a person gets older, Bruno has to be cautious. He is considered a matured adult dog and his health needs to be taken care of. He must checked for any signs of cancer. He asked us to feel his testicals to find any lump in it. Anyway, Bruno needs to be castrated to avoid cancer and also other reasons. He asked us to consider this before deciding to castrate Bruno. One way to really decide is to surf the net for more info. 

Earlier before, he showed us some examples of bad tooth. Bruno's tooth is not good. Really. He has to stopped eating chicken bones. His tooth is really bad and I felt sorry for him. It's all my mom's fault for given him bones. I warn her so many times she just wouldn't listened. Sometimes I get pissed off telling her to not cleaning her plate by giving Bruno her left over bones.

So Kitty is going to be castrated soon. I felt bad but he has to do it. I don't know about Bruno... I think he is too old for this. I really don't know!
