Hot in Penang
So, after coming back from school. I quickly took a shower and starting finishing all my undone work. But still, there are some that are still undone. I managed to complete a few homework before I packed my bags and leave to Penang. It was a Thursday night. I skipped tuition for 2 reasons. First, I didn't memorize the vitamins and minerals that my Bio teacher asked me to.. So, I had to skipped class. It's okay though , cause I won't be seeing that teacher again. I change my tuition center. Somewhere else, much nearer to house. Walking distance, hee :)
I don't want to explain much about the feast. I'm very surprised now Saint Anne's feast has became a tourist attraction because the number of people that appeared there for the whole event that lasted a week. So, I'm here to actually complain about Penang. Oh gosh, you really need to know this.
I'm very disappointed with the food at Penang. Everywhere you go, you see hawker stalls. LIKE WTF. I'm bored with char kuey teow. Really! I ate that for 3 times before I have no choice! The food seriously sucks at Penang. You know, you see char kuey teow LIKE.. EVERYWHERE!!! Every corner!!! Gosh.. Now, at Selangor, whenever I see fried kuey teow, I feel like vomiting. It makes me sick. Yes, it really does.

Another thing was : LAKSA. Who the hell said laksa is a famous food in Penang. NooooOOoooO! You are wrong. Actually I do see Laksa around. But it doesn't attract me to try at all. One look and you can tell that the laksa is not tasty as it looks. I mean, come on... Here in Selangor, the laksa is 100 times tastier. I guess Selangor is the best. Heee. By the way, I hate their ice lemon tea or 'lime water' (air limau). So not the Selangor type. Like yer... They don't know how to make it! I ordered 1 lemon tea. I wasted my aunt's money cause I only drank 1/4 of it. Yuck. My Aunt asked me to taste the iced lemon tea she ordered form another place. One word : Yuck.
I'm quite frustrated with the hotel's view of the beach. 'The Cove' has blocked my view of the beach. Now lets talked about the beach. The Batu Ferringi beach. OKay, the sea water is dirty. I'm sure there's a huge difference from now and the past. Now, the water is a little greenish. EWW. The worst part was, there's a warning sign written on the notice board near the beach :BEWARE OF JELLYFISH. WTF. Hello!! I want to play with the sea water. I want to drown myself in there and now I can't go in. ZZz..This is the thing that discourage me to go deep into the water.
I only can play above shallow waters. Just like a small kid. The waves can only hit my knees. Most of the time, it touches my legs. I swear the waves are like magnets. It can pull you into close. Quite creepy. My slipper almost got swept by the sea. ZZz. Lucky I was able to grab my slippers before it was taken. Day 1 at the beach was ok. I was so eager to go onto the beach until I didn't care about my face. It was sunny hot and I've got an umbrella in my hands. LIKE SO LAME. I'm the only one doing that. It was very weird running with umbrella. I know some people will surely think I'm crazy.
I noticed my skin is a bit dark now. Aww :( . Why didn't I think of not going to the beach when the sun is so damn freaking hot? I can't even find any beautiful shells to keep as memory. Hey, that was Day 1. I was lucky on Day 2. After eating breakfast at the hotel, I kept persuading my aunts, all 4 of them, to take me to the beach as the weather wasn't hot. It was about to rain. So it would be a great opportunity to have fun at the beach. But I was only given a while.
The wind was blowing. It was so nice. I took as many pictures as I can. I even record the sound of the waves because I'm afraid I will not be able to visit any beaches again. On Day 2, I found a very beautiful shells. It's pointed, thin, and curving down. I've never picked a shell so amazing before in my life. I'm so proud I found a rare seashell. Look at the picture below, It's the shell I'm talking about. The waves brought me to it. Cool huh?
I can also see tiny crabs crawling all over. I scared they bit me. So, it's better if I wear slippers.
There's some more. I saw a bus that got a number plate with the word 'WTF'. Haha. I laugh when I saw it.
At the hotel, I was surprised that I slept well for the past 2 nights, though I'm very superstitious. I followed all the instructions that the book (Russell Lee TSGS) told. Actually, I'm not supposed to believed in these nonsense. But, the thing is, my aunt was also doing the same thing even though she never read that book. Haha! Before we step into the room, I knocked on the door.. Then I walked side ways. Apparently, ''walking side ways is done to allow those that are living inside to make their way out''. Once you're in the room. On all the lights, the curtains and so on. I was so shocked to see the mirror facing the bed. Just like what the book says : ''Avoid sleeping on a bed that has a mirror facing to it''. You see, I came to think about it. And I think it's very logic. It will be scary to wake up and find yourself staring at the mirror right? What if the reflection is NOT YOU??? Wow... That is not what you wanna see when you wake up. Yeah...
When we're leaving the hotel, I got a little out of control. I started jumping on the bed. Taking crazy photographs. Haha! It was total NUTS. Well, who cares about the messed-up bed? I'm not spending one more night here. Let the cleaners do extra work. LOL. SSSOORRRY!!
told you I was out of control :) |
