Armpit Odor
Some people think underarm odor problem is not that serious at all. Maybe you think that your body is fresh enough after showering. You know, soap is just not sufficient. It's okay if you disagree in applying perfume, but at least put on some deodorant. If you don know what smelly underarms is like, then try sitting beside anyone who has this smelly armpit. It is either you faint or you run as far as you can afford to. The smell is terrible. I am very blessed to not have an underarm odor problem. Deodorants are vital to every teenager. Really. I suggest all the school students, college students or busy outdoor workers to get a bottle of deodorant. That is what you need for your whole life.
At school, I come across some students, which smell like bulls. I’m sorry to say this, and I know it is kind of rude but that is the only way I can describe this people! It was today at recess time, I pass by a girl of my age, that smell like a bull. Gosh! Terrible! Well, I notice that she always has that smell. If I sense that smell, could others sense the same thing too? What would people think sense that smell too? For your information, that unpleasant smell makes me lose my appetite. I hate when the dirty smell fills the clean air. The time when you can find this smell around is sports time. When changing, gosh, I've to safe myself. To make it clear, below is brief information about bad armpit odor.
Armpit odor, or axillary malodor, usually begins when you reach puberty, when your glands start working. There are two kinds of sweat glands in the human body, the apocrine glands, which secrete a milky fluid from the hair follicles, and the eccrine glands, which are the source of most perspiration. The sweat from the eccrine glands is water, which is used to cool the body by evaporation and to moisten the friction surfaces of the body.
Most axillary, or armpit, sweat is odorless, and comes from the eccrine glands. The small amount of apocrine secretion in the sweat, however, causes the problem.
Although fresh apocrine sweat is also odorless, it develops its characteristic smell when the sweat is broken down by the hair and skin cells in the armpit, and then eaten by bacteria.
It's actually the bacteria that make the smell, releasing a chemical called 3-methyl-2-hexenoic acid.

About 90% of men and 70% of women have these bacteria in their armpit, and women produce a milder odor than men. Most people have trouble smelling their own odor without burying their nose in their own armpit ... probably because your brain filters out smells which are always present.
Armpit odor is a problem for most adults (whether they admit it or not), and usually gets worse with age. In some people, it can be so mild that deodorants aren't necessary, but in others, it can be so strong as to literally drive people away. Most people have some odor, especially after exercise, and prefer to do something about it.
There has actually been very little study into what happens in your armpit.... most of the research, by the cosmetics industry, has been aimed at preventing the smell from being noticed. This is accomplished in two ways, through the application of either antiperspirants or deodorants.
Antiperspirants act like a second skin under your armpit, preventing perspiration from being released. Without the sweat, the bacteria can't grow. Some people don't like the crusty feel that these leave on the skin.
Deodorants are scents which mingle with the sweat, and try to disguise the smell being released by the bacteria. They usually work O.K., but only if you wash frequently, especially after exercise (they can't disguise really bad odors).
Everything we do is designed to mask those odors. Deodorants and perfume, air sprays and central air conditioning, all do their part to help to hide how we smell.
